CORSET Collective Discussion Groups Guidelines

These guidelines are designed to foster a vibrant, supportive, and productive community where members can connect, learn, and grow together. We encourage open and honest communication while maintaining a respectful and constructive environment.

1. General Principles

A. Purpose

The primary purpose of our discussion groups is to facilitate meaningful conversations, share knowledge, offer support, and collaborate on solutions that empower women economically, professionally, and personally.

B. Respect & Inclusivity

Treat all members with respect and courtesy. Value diverse perspectives and experiences. Create a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.

C. Constructive Communication

Focus on building each other up, offering helpful advice, and contributing positively to the conversation. Avoid negativity, personal attacks, and unproductive criticism.

D. Solution-Oriented

We are a community of action-takers. Discussions should aim to identify problems, explore solutions, and inspire collective action.

E. Confidentiality

Respect the privacy of other members. Do not share personal information or private conversations outside the group without explicit consent.

2. Specific Conduct Guidelines

A. No Bullying or Harassment

Any form of bullying, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination will not be tolerated. This includes personal attacks, offensive language, and any behavior that creates a hostile environment

B. No Hate Speech

Hate speech, defined as attacks on individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics, is strictly prohibited

No Spam or Self-Promotion

C. Do not use the discussion groups to promote your products or services without prior authorization. Sharing relevant resources and information is encouraged, but blatant self-promotion is not.

D. No Illegal Activities

Discussions related to illegal activities are strictly prohibited.

E. No Inappropriate Content

Do not post or share content that is sexually suggestive, violent, or otherwise offensive.

F. No Foul Language

Refrain from using profanity or offensive language.

G. Stay on Topic

Keep discussions relevant to the specific topic of the group. If you want to discuss a different topic, please find or create a more appropriate group.

H. Be Mindful of Tone

Written communication can be easily misinterpreted. Be mindful of your tone and use clear, concise language. Use emojis sparingly to convey emotion.

I. Respect Copyright

Do not share copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder.

J. Report Violations

If you see something that violates these guidelines, please report it to the moderators immediately.

3. Guidelines for Political Discussions

A. Focus on Policy Impact

Political discussions are permitted only when they focus on how specific policies affect the progress and well-being of women and the broader community.

B. Actionable Insights

Discussions must aim to identify concrete actions members can take to insulate themselves from negative policy impacts or collectively work towards positive change

C. Productive Dialogue

Venting and unproductive complaining are discouraged. Discussions should be solution-oriented and focused on identifying actionable steps.

E. No Conspiracy Theories

The promotion of conspiracy theories is strictly prohibited

F. No Maligning Individuals

Personal attacks or attempts to malign individual politicians or public figures are not allowed. Focus on the policies themselves, not on personal characteristics

G. No Criticism to Cause Harm

Criticism should be constructive and aimed at improving policies, not at causing harm or division

E. Civility and Respect

Maintain a civil and respectful tone, even when discussing controversial topics. Disagreeing respectfully is encouraged, but personal attacks and inflammatory language are not permitted.

F. Majority Benefit

Actions and solutions discussed should aim to benefit the majority of the community without negatively impacting others.

4. Moderation

A. Moderators

The CORSET Collective will appoint moderators to oversee the discussion groups and ensure that these guidelines are followed.

B. Enforcement

Moderators have the authority to remove posts, issue warnings, and ban members who violate these guidelines

C. Appeals

Members who believe they have been unfairly moderated may appeal to the CORSET Collective administration

D. Right to Modify

The CORSET Collective reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any time. Members will be notified of any changes.
